Game 1 2012

The first game was held on the high school field.  It feels so much bigger there and we're a lot farther away from the action.  They played a Lone Peak team that came out looking pretty strong.  They scored early in the first quarter leaving us down 0-6.

 But after that the boys seemed to have a fire lit inside them and really started playing well.  We recovered two of our own punts in a row which each ended in touchdowns bringing us ahead 12-6.  Then we drove it down for another touchdown which had us up 18-6. 

We are clearly struggling with scoring extra points.  But that is pretty common at this age.  Then the most exciting thing was Jack intercepted the ball in the third quarter and ran it all the way down for a touchdown.  He was so excited, I have no pics because I was so excited.  They ended up winning the game 25-6.  It was good to start the season with a win. 

Jamboree

Jack is number 12 this year.  His coach had him change to reflect his position at quarterback.  The Jamboree is always at such a hot time of year and played in the afternoon, it was sweltering.  Jack's team had a good scrimmage and got excited for their first game.

 

The synthetic field is several degrees hotter than the surrounding pavement, I don't know how they don't get burned.  It was a good preview to the season.
